This is the first of a (probably somewhat infrequent) series;- “Chiggs Makes!”

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m very proud of my card ‘makes’ , but after 10 years it’s safe to say I’ve got them down pat. This is something a bit different to the usual Baby Feed Wheels, Baby Medicine Wheels and Get Well Wheels!

My husband is a big tea drinker (i.e. he drinks a lot of tea, not that he’s big… he’s around 5 ft 10 allowing for shrinkage).  He’s also very fussy about his tea, which is why I refuse to make it for him… many years ago when we first met he made the mistake of saying I made the worst cup of tea he had ever tasted. Big mistake. Huge! He’s had to make is own for the last 19 years.

Each cup of tea has to be made in his little tea pot and left to brew. I have noticed recently that he’s been using a tea towel to put on the tea pot to keep it warm while it mashes, so as the loving wife that I am I have been looking around for a little tea cosy to fit over his little tea-pot-for-one. Not easy to find! In fact, I found it impossible, so I decided to have a crack at making one myself, and I was very pleased with how it turned out. Which is why I’m boasting blogging about it here.

Choice of fabric was easy: it had to be tiger print. I like to buy (or make) tiger things for my husband, because my favourite football team are nicknamed The Tigers. He doesn’t support this football team, he supports a completely different and far inferior football team, but I don’t let this stop me in my quest to tigerify his little life.

Tiger Tea Cosy

I was without a pattern, and quite honestly winging it, so cut 2 pieces in an elongated oval shape, and sandwiched a semi circular piece of wadding in between each pair. The fold then became the bottom of each semi circular half, I pinned together both pieces and sewed the whole lot, i.e. both ‘wadding sandwiches’ (not actually a technical sewing term!) around the curved edge.

Sewn around the wadding sandwich

Turned right side out so the stitching was on the inside, and voila! A Tiger Tea Cosy.

Busy, Busy!

Monday, August 18th, 2014

August has been very busy here at Chiggs- maybe all our stockists are getting their orders in to prepare for those September babies- (there is usually a baby boom 9 months after Christmas/New Year!).

We have sent more Chiggs Baby Wheels out to Angel Wholesale, the one stop shop for nappy cake, baby shower and baby basket supplies. If you head to section ‘nappy cakes’ and then ‘embellishments’ you can find each of the Baby Feed Wheels and the Baby Medicine Wheel. All Chiggs Baby Wheels are available in single quantities from Angel Wholesale, with savings to be made buying them in larger quantities.

Baby Feed Wheels have winged (wheeled?) their way to Maternal Instincts online maternity and breastfeeding boutique, Baby BoBo nappy cakes in Louth, Lincolnshire, and a variety of eBay shops, Mini AcornsClick and Buy gifts and Smartieprints.

It’s always a pleasure to visit one of our local stockists, Magpie Greetings here in Harrogate, and we dropped of a reorder of Baby Feed Wheels and Get Well Wheels this afternoon (and bought a lovely card while we were there- I never leave empty handed!)

Babies Babies baby shower specialists are another business who have restocked with Baby Feed Wheels this month. All our stockists sell Baby Feed Wheels, but not all sell the full range, so if there is a Chiggs Wheel you can’t find at your favourite independent retailer or online retailer, have a browse through the Chiggs shop

If you run a business and would also like to sell Chiggs Wheels, do have a look at our Trade and Wholesale page, and either fill in the trade enquiry form or send us an email for more information. We would be delighted to hear from you!

Baby Feed Wheel reviews

Sunday, October 20th, 2013

There are some fabulous reviews of Baby Feed Wheels dotted around the web, so we’ve tried to bring as many as we can find all together in one place.

On Amazon the Pink Baby Feed Wheel was given 5 stars, with the reviewer noting that the couple she bought it for use it, so although given as a card, it’s useful too.

A blue Baby Feed Wheel was purchased to add to a new baby hamper, the reviewer said “It’s a simple idea but based on how frazzled I have seen new parents get, seems like an essential!”

On Mumsnet reviews, under ‘Gifts for New Parents’ the Baby Feed Wheel is awarded a whopping 5 stars out of 5 over 6 reviews with comments “This is great for any new mum… I used it especially after the birth of my daughter when I was really tired from all the sleepless nights & sleep deprivation.”

and “This is such a simple idea but absolutely fantastic. I thought it would be pointless ‘I’ll remember when I last fed her’ were my poor innocent pre-birth thoughts. And then the reality of life with a newborn kicked in and this really came into its own at night – def recommended! ”

On Bizziebaby where Lisa awarded the Baby Feed Wheel 5 out of 5, saying  “Quality is superb.  Extremely good value for money and would consider buying more and also as a gift.  Would recommend without hesitation.”

On the Chiggs website we have some lovely testimonials that people have sent us over the years by letter (remember those?!), email, and on Twitter and Facebook – “Can’t tell you how much these wheels helped our sanity when we had the twins! Simple but so effective – like all the best ideas!”

and… “We put the feeding wheel to immediate excellent use. It was a godsend in those early days when most of your brain has deserted you and remembering such a simple thing is beyond you! It’s a fantastic product and we have recommended it to many. Thanks.”… to quote just two!

Aaachooo!

It’s that time of year again- you’ve got flu, you’re a bit feverish, yet  have to take your flu remedy tablets every 4 hours. It’s a nightmare to remember what time you took them and when you can safely dose yourself up with the next lot!

This is where the Get Well Wheel is a godsend:-

Take tablets (lots of water!)

Set the numbers on the dial to show the time your flu medicine was taken

Pop your Get Well Wheel on the mantelpiece or bedside table.

Easy!

Each card is supplied with an envelope, so you can write a little get well soon message on the back and post it as a card or pressie to someone who’s feeling under the weather.

There are 3 embellishments to choose from, a red hot water bottle, pretty pink hottie-bottle or orange flower with green leaf design. Available for just £4.20 (free delivery!) from the Chiggs shop. It’s brilliant to add to a get well soon hamper and as with all Chiggs Wheels available at wholesale prices. Fill in our trade enquiry form for a trade price and information.
