National Thinking of You Week

Thursday, September 18th, 2014

The GCA (Greeting Card Association) has launched a new special week to highlight the emotional power of sending and receiving greeting cards- and it’s happening soon!

National Thinking of You Week has the aim of spreading a little bit of love and happiness across the nation by getting everyone to send a card a day during the week of 22-28th of September 2014.

To get involved you just have to send seven cards during this week, and encourage friends, family and colleagues to do the same.

Cards don’t have to be posted! You can give them in person or pop one through a neighbours letter box. The GCA points out that it has been scientifically proven that receiving a handwritten card makes people feel much more special than getting a text or email.

So, if you know someone who has just found out they are expecting a baby (looking at you, Your Majesty!) send them a lemon Baby Feed Wheel from Chiggs.

Maybe a friend or relative has just had a baby? A blue or pink Baby Feed Wheel would be a lovely card to congratulate them with (or both if it’s twins!)

Or you may know someone who is a bit under the weather at the moment- maybe they have a cold coming on- give them a Get Well Wheel and you’re not only letting them know you are thinking of them, but they can even use the card to keep a track of their Beechams!

Pop into one of our stockists, buy a Chiggs Wheel, write a little message on the back and spread a little happiness next week! Look out for photos and events posted on Facebook and Twitter with hashtags #ThinkingOfYou, and #KeepBritainHappy

The Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her second child.

Monday, September 8th, 2014

A second baby is on the way for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! Clarence House issued the following statement today:-

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.

The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.

As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.”

The fact that Kate is once again suffering with severe morning sickness- Hyperemesis Gravidarum-  has led Clarence House to announce the pregnancy earlier than the traditional 12 week mark. William and Catherine were due to visit Oxford today, however William will be making a solo appearance.

Catherine is due to go on a solo visit to Malta next month to represent The Queen, whether this will go ahead is unsure at the moment.

Here at Chiggs we wish the Duchess of Cambridge a happy and healthy pregnancy, and we are very much looking forward to sending a Baby Feed Wheel to welcome a Spring Royal Baby!

If you are in the Nursery business (in any way, shape or form!), have you voted in the Nursery Industry Awards yet?

Nursery Industry is a monthly UK trade magazine containing  industry news, developments and new product information.

The magazine rums an annual awards event, and voting for NI 2014 closes on the 9th of September. We are delighted that Chiggs has been nominated under Best Feeding Brand, and we will be voting for our stockist Angel Wholesale as Best Wholesaler, and another stockist Pure Nappy Cakes (who make the most fabulous nappy cakes containing Baby Feed Wheels!) for Best Online Retailer
