Boots recall own brand medicines

High Street and online pharmacist Boots has issued a recall notice for some of their own brand children’s ibuprofen and some cough medicines.

The company said that due to a manufacturing fault in the making of the tamper seal, small pieces of plastic may be found in the affected products.

The Boots Children’s Ibuprofen affected by this recall are:-

Boots Pharmaceuticals Paracetamol 6 years Plus oral solution (200mg/5ml)

Boots Pharmaceuticals Ibuprofen 3 Months Plus oral suspension, strawberry flavour (100mg/5ml)  

Almus Ibuprofen Oral Suspension, 3 months plus, Strawberry Flavour, (100mg/5ml)

Other Boots products that also may be affected, and have been recalled are:-

Boots Pharmaceuticals Chesty Cough Relief (100mg/5ml oral solution)

Boots Pharmaceuticals Dry Cough Relief oral solution

Boots Pharmaceuticals Mucus Cough Relief (100mg/5ml oral solution)

All products were sold between September 2013 and November 2013

Shoppers are requested to return the medicine to a Boots store as a precautionary measure, where they will get a refund.
